How a visibility check runs

  1. 1

    Name the brand

Write it the way customers do, for example "Notion" and not "notion.so". Then choose the country whose AI answers you care about.

  2. 2

    The tool asks four engines

Your brand and country go to SE Ranking’s AI Search data, which holds stored answers from ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini.

  3. 3

    Read the table

Each engine gets a row with the number of answers that name your brand and the month the data comes from. Prompts and sources sit underneath.

What is in the report

  • Answers naming the brand

The number of stored answers on that engine that mention your brand. Each engine is counted on its own and the counts are never added up.

  • Data month

When that engine’s snapshot was taken. Engines and countries are refreshed on different schedules, so two rows can show different months.

  • Prompts that name you

Up to three real prompts per engine that produced an answer naming the brand, with the monthly search volume when the engine provides one.

  • Answer excerpts

A short piece of each answer with the brand underlined, so you can judge whether the mention is the one you meant.

  • Sources linked

The websites those sample answers link to, which shows where an engine looks when it talks about your category.

AI visibility software, answered

What is AI visibility software?

It is software that measures how often AI assistants and AI search features bring up your brand, in which answers, and with which sources. This page runs a one-off check; dedicated tools repeat the same prompts on a schedule.

What do I need to run a check?

A brand name and a country. There is no sign-up, and you can run up to 3 checks a day. A shared link to a report fills the form again but does not run the check for you.

Which engines and countries are covered?

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini, for the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain or India.

What does a number in the table mean?

It is how many stored answers on that engine name your brand in the latest snapshot. A bigger number means the engine mentions you in more answers; it is not a ranking position or a share of voice.

Why do some rows show different months?

Each engine is collected on its own schedule and some countries are updated less often. The table shows the month for every row so you can see how fresh each number is.

Why can an unrelated answer show up?

Mentions are matched on the name alone. If your brand is also an everyday word, such as Linear or Notion, some answers will use the word in a different sense. The excerpt shows the context.

Why are only three prompts listed per engine?

The data provider charges for every prompt it returns, so the free check lists three per engine and gives the total count. SE Visible lists every prompt and tracks your own.
